Fabolous

Icon Talks Fabolous
Fab x IconTalks-123

Fabolous is an entertainment mogul, fashion influencer and philanthropist whose career has spun almost two decades.  The hip-hop icon from Brooklyn began his career when he was only a senior in high school.

Early on, he was signed by DJ Clue to his label Desert Storm, and later secured a distribution deal with Elektra Records.

Fabolous scored a bit hit, “Can’t Deny It,” right out of the gate in 2001, instantly establishing himself as a rising East Coast rap star.  The song’s combination of street-savvy toughness and pop crossover appeal was representative of the rapper himself. The Brooklyn rapper was among the first of a new breed of New York City rappers who were able to cross over well among multiple markets without losing street credential and maintaining commercial success.

When Fabolous returned with his sophomore album, Street Dreams in 2003, he capitalized on his initial success, racking up three major hits: “Trade It All,” “Can’t Let You Go,” and “Into You,” with the latter two breaking into the Top Five of Billboard’s Hot 100.

Fabolous has gone on to record several other highly successful albums and mixtapes and appear both on television and in film.  The MC has also garnered the praise and attention from his industry receiving numerous nominations for American Music Awards, BET Awards, and Grammys amongst others.

Despite his global acclaim, this Brooklyn MC has never lost his commitment to uplifting and empowering his community.  With his foundation, a “Fabolous Way” he seeks to empower a culture of achievement throughout New York City using guidance, inspiration, and community outreach.

Fabolous is also a music and arts ambassador for “After-School All-Stars” a nationwide after-school program as well as many other civic and non-profit organizations aimed at helping kids in need.  “After-School All-Stars” program has helped provide after-school programs for over 80,000 at-risk students in the country.

This seasoned entertainment superstar and servant leader is also a proud father and family man.

Fabolous is undoubtedly the trifecta:  a musician, businessman, and humanitarian whose music transcends generations and ethnicities. And while we salute his work in music and entertainment, we believe what truly shines an iconic light on this mogul is his commitment to family and community. He demonstrates the core values of a true icon and that is someone who inspires not only through their innate talents but someone who manifests their purpose and passion in how they live their life and touch the lives of others.
